If you were fortunate and you managed to see the film the Da Vinci Code, you will understand when I say that it one of the all time great thrillers ever to be written. The film, based on Dan Brown's best selling thriller of the same name was a sure fire success back in 2006. The follow up to the Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons will be in our cinemas very soon.

In Angels & Demons we again find the Harvard University religious expert Robert Langdon struggling against fierce enemies who are intent on destroying the Catholic Church. This time Langdon finds himself in the middle of a resurgent ancient organization who will go to any lengths to achieve their rotten ends.

Langdon teams up with the beautiful Italian scientist, Vittoria Vetra, in Angels & Demons, to foil the exploits of the deadly Illuminati brotherhood - who appear to have lost none of their influence and power despite his best efforts. I'm really looking forward to being able to watch Angels and Demons for free and I'm hoping that the cast and crew have got this as right as they did the first film.

Rome provides the backdrop for the vast majority of this movie, and that's no bad thing. The historic buildings and Roman architecture only add to the drama and suspense as we see Langdon and Vetra battle desperately to secure the Vatican against its sworn enemy. The hectic pace of the film, and the beautiful architecture, will sometimes leave you breathless.

Angels & Demons sees most of the original Da Vinci Code cast and crew reunite for this film. The lead role is taken by Tom Hanks, with Ron Howard back as director for the latest episode in this franchise. Other members of the cast include Ewan McGregor, Pierfrancesco Favino and Armin Mueller Stahl.

Angels & Demons is released in to movie theaters on May the 15th 2009. I know there will be many Da Vinci Code fans who are scrambling to se this on the day of its release. If this is half the film Da Vinci was, I'm sure they won't be disappointed.
